Library Card Information

Patron Types

Individuals who are authenticated through the campus information systems are required to present their CatCard or Library Card in order to check-out materials or receive any other library service that requires identification. You are responsible for the return of all materials borrowed while using your card and for any materials returned late or damaged. Please report to the library's Information Desk if you have lost your card, it was stolen , or if you changed your address.

Library users may not check out library materials using anyone else’s library card. Exceptions include official methods only, such as Proxy Cards which professors request for their assistants, or Underage User Cards.

Lost or Stolen Cards

Reporting Missing Cards

Your library card should be kept in a safe place. In case of a lost or stolen CatCard or library card, notify the Library as soon as possible at 621-6406.  You are responsible for telling the library about the loss or theft of your library card. AFTER you have reported the loss or theft of your card to the library, you will not be held responsible for any materials that are subsequently checked out on your card, or for late fees or charges on such materials. You are responsible for all materials borrowed with your card prior to any report of loss or theft. This includes all associated late fees or lost material charges that may accrue to these materials. If your card is lost or stolen, be sure to protect yourself by reporting it to the Library immediately.

If you subsequently find your library card or get a new one you must come to one of the Library Information Desks with your library card and additional ID to have us remove the block. For your own security, this cannot be done over the phone nor can another person request the block to be removed.
