Billing and Processing Fees |

| Regular* materials |
No fees are charged for material returned before the 21st day overdue. A book is presumed lost when it is overdue 22 days or more. At that time lost material charge of $165 will be levied. If a lost item is returned, the lost material charge will be reduced to $40.00/item to cover billing costs. If a lost material charge is placed with a collection agency or sent to the University Bursar’s office, this $40 billing fee cannot be waived or reduced.

Bound journals circulate for 3 days. $1.00/day per item for the first 5 days overdue. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s). On the 6th day overdue, you will be billed for a lost material charge of $165 per item. If a lost item is returned, the lost material charge will be reduced to $40.00/item to cover billing costs.

Videos and DVDs circulate for 5 days. $1.00/day per item for the first 5 days overdue. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s) . On the 6th day overdue, you will be billed for a lost material charge of $165 per item. If a lost item is returned, the lost material charge will be reduced to $40.00/item to cover billing costs.

CDs circulate for 7 days. $1.00/day per item for the first 5 days overdue. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s) . On the 6th day overdue, you will be billed for a lost material charge of $165 per item. If a lost item is returned, the lost material charge will be reduced to $40.00/item to cover billing costs.

Music Phonodiscs circulate for 7 days. $1.00/day per item for the first 5 days overdue. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s) . On the 6th day overdue, you will be billed for a lost material charge of $165 per item. If a lost item is returned, the lost material charge will be reduced to $40.00/item to cover billing costs.

Calculators
|
Higher fees are levied on calculators because of their special use: $1.00/hour for the 4-hour calculator loan for the first day. Hourly fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item . After being a day overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $165. When returned the fee will reduce to the amount of the accumulated fee for each hour overdue up to $48. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item . On the 6th day overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $165. When returned the fee will reduce to $40.00 to cover billing costs.

| Laptops |
Higher fees are levied on Laptops because of their special use. $15.00/hour. Hourly fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s) . After being a day overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $2,800. When the laptop is returned the fee will reduce to $250 to cover billing costs.

Higher fees are levied on Laptop accessories because of their special use. $15.00/hour. Hourly fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s) . On the 24th hour overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $165.00/item. This is due to the fact that we won’t check in the laptop without the other pieces.

$1.00/day. Daily fees while accruing do not actually show up on your account until you return the item(s) . On the 22nd day overdue, you will be billed for replacement at $165 per item. When returned the fee will reduce to the amount of the accumulated fee for each day overdue up to $40.

Interlibrary Loan Materials
|
$1.00/day per item in addition to $40 processing fee per item or pay the replacement fee of $165.

- * DOES NOT apply to bound journals, maps, media, fine arts closed stacks box sets or other special material.
- If a borrowed library item is returned damaged, depending on the extent of damage done, users will either be assessed a $25 re-binding fee or they will be charged the appropriate replacement fees. If you notice that an item is damaged prior to checkout, please report the damage to the Information Desk so that you will not be held responsible.
- The University of Arizona may at its sole discretion utilize the services of an external collection agency or law firm to collect any remaining unpaid portion or balance owed on Library fees and charges . The University of Arizona reserves the right to add all collection costs (including reasonable attorney fees) charged by an external collection agency for the collection of any amount not paid when due to the balance of any unpaid charges.
