Browseable Film Lists from the Library Catalog (Alphabetical)

Some of the lists are quite large, and may be difficult to browse for some purposes. Because of irregular cataloging or older cataloging records, some of these lists are far from complete (the films by type , for example). However, they should still be useful as a source for identifying or discovering films in our collections. If you do not see a film you are looking for, please contact our reference desk for more help at 621-6443, or email us at askref@u.library.arizona.edu .

Any of these lists can also be modified by clicking on the Modify Search Button button and then adding a keyword in one of the empty search boxes (e.g. Tucson), or by using one of the drop down menus under these boxes to limit to a particular year or date range, language, location, etc.

Films in Closed Stacks in Call Number Order (as they are shelved)

Using our catalog, you can electronically "browse" films as they are shelved within a limited call number range. While this is not as easy as physically browsing these titles, it can help you identify media materials in particular subject areas.

To do your own search, start by identifying the call number of a title (of a book or a video) in the subject you'd like to browse for film titles in. For example, you have a book on Islam - The A to Z of Islam - with the call number BP50 .A325 2002 , and you'd like to see if we have any films on the subject.

  1. Go to the Library Catalog
  2. Select "Other Searches," then "Library of Congress Call Number"and type in "BP" (or other Call Number) and click "Search."
  3. Then click on "Limit/Sort" and under "WHERE Item is located," select "Media DVD/VHS (Main Library)" and click "Submit."

This will give you a shelf list of all the media titles in that call number range.
